Sanjay Punjabi is a magnificent blend of intellect, creativity and spirituality. He is a seasoned architect thoroughly versed in every facet of the theatre and excels in all situations. Basically a Civil Engineer from M. S. University, Vadodara, Gujarat, he is an Architectural Planner, Interior Designer, Project Management Consultant & Government Approved Valuer who has contributed much to the architectural and design community. With over two decades of experience to back his work, his emphasis is on seamless integration of architecture, interiors with an aesthetic polymath.As the Owner and Chief Designer of Image N Shape, Sanjay has his finger on the pulse of the firm. One of his key roles is to actively review projects during design and construction; ensuring details are up to date along with performing the quality control step on documents prior to them leaving the office. Sanjay’s noteworthy contributions and innovative design work have earned him great acclaim. An interesting part of him is creative process which lies in his use of Information technology. He relies on technology and software from the creative fields to realize and design his non- traditional forms in space planning. Instead of thinking of design as a way of connecting lines he re-envisions curves as the designing space within a flexible medium, as he says, “we've shifted to thinking of space as the sheltered enclosures of a flexible handkerchief." Sanjay often seeks inspiration from nature. Being inspired and influenced by nature in this way he calls it 'biomimicry', which he believes allows his architectural designs to be more energy efficient, structurally sound, and beautiful to behold. From ancient monuments and places of worship to modern skyscrapers and famous landmarks, aesthetically pleasing architecture has long provided inspiration for him. He adores exploring the possibilities & challenges of the built environment domain, exploring design as the most beautiful, structured thought process which encompasses Science & Art principles. Sanjay strongly believes that as a designer the more he learns from nature, more he can create designs in harmony with both the natural and built environment.
