It was usual to pay toll while driving through a long stretch of National highways or bridge, but when it was decoded as infrastructure as a service (IaaS), which the government introduced it long back while making heavy infrastructure on BOT basis - the revenue model was quite simple to collect fees (toll) from users who pass by the specific highway/bridge. In a cloud world today, we have seen Software as a Service (SaaS) and many popular examples around for SaaS companies. Similarly, there are Platform as a Service (PaaS) companies around. When I recently came to know about Battery as a Service (BaaS) , I was surprised to see an innovative business model which may recently introduced as an innovative initiative for mobility. Recently, MG Windsor launched the Battery as a Service (BaaS) concept and industry veterans and market look forward to studying more about this campaign. The basic price of the Automobile unit is lesser and the user needs to pay 3.5 rs/km for battery usage. It means no future heavy cost involved and the user can have a fresh battery whenever they need to replace the battery. MG got more attention as the unit cost drastically reduced to a few lakhs (5-7 lakh) and the cherry on the top is for the first year all charging shall be free of cost. Of course, these are primary information received through the internet but it has taken attention for EV seekers at large. The world has truly entered into a collaboration economy where capitalism's new template is rentalism. Your views are welcome
